In the near future, rapidshare.com might undergo some changes. I am really abit put off with Rapidshare and its new policy. It looks like Rapidshare has sold out to some kind of political arm twisting in keeping file size restricted. So if you have a file you uploaded that is not being downloaded at least 1 time within 3 months it will be erased.
I have no problem with this idea since the link is really just dead if no one is downloading it at least once in 3 months.
One of the main overheads of the company is storage, but it seems that they make a lot of money and have become the biggest link site
on the web today.
It makes people wonder and ask whats next? price increase’s or less storage more time contraints…or just plain more control. If anyone has a blog with alot of posts using Rapid links from a year ago you may soon have too say goodbye to them after Oct 20th. that is of cousrse if no one is downloading them at least 1 time in 90 days.
Which if your a odds type of person like I am….thats like a few million people never seeing you in a open field. Anyways this is the new Rapidshare movement for the end of 2009 to the new 2010 I don’t like it but its there world right? This is what rapid says as most of you that have an account already know or have seen.
Your files are currently using more than 25 GB of space. Please note that on October 20th, 2009 a new method of storage management will come into effect. If an account is using more than 25 GB, all inactive files associated with that account will be deleted. Active files (i.e. files that have been downloaded at least once during the last 90 days) will of course not be deleted, regardless of the storage used.
