Google Voice will provide talking power for free. With the commitment to attract more users, and their declarationto provide all the necessary Internet and mobile features in one software, Google unmasked two new features for their Voice. The first is that you can now forward SMS messages to your email, and the second is that you can now play your voicemail straight from your Gmail account. Pretty neat eh? So now all your text and audio recordings can be viewed using your computer or laptop.
Here are the details on how to set up these new features:
For forwarding SMS to your email:
- Login to your Google Voice account and click on the Settings link in the upper right hand corner. Once there, go to Voicemail & SMS, then check the box next to SMS Forwarding.
For playing voicemail in your Gmail accounts:
- Login to your Gmail account and go to Settings. Once there look for Labs. Go ahead and click on that and then scroll down the list of available lab features until you see Google Voice player in mail. From there, go ahead and click Enable, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button. Hopefully, users will be able to appreciate what technology now has to offer. For all of you who are always in front of their laptops (and refuses to text while browsing the net), then this is the perfect way for you to combine mobile communication and Internet usage.
